Entanglement Network

Entangle Support

Entangle lets you talk with the people around you without the internet, an account or a phone number. Nearby phones form a Bluetooth mesh and pass messages on for each other. On the App Store it is called "Stay Entangled".

Common questions

Do I need the internet?
No. Near Field, the public chat, and private chats with people nearby work over Bluetooth alone. Location channels, and private chats with people far away, use the internet when you have it.

How far does a message go?
A phone reaches other phones within Bluetooth range, typically tens of metres depending on the surroundings. Messages hop from phone to phone, so they can reach further when more people are around. An optional E-Node radio reaches much further.

Who can read my messages?
Anyone nearby can read Near Field, and anyone in a location channel can read that channel. Private chats are end-to-end encrypted: only you and the other person can read them.

Do I have an account to delete?
No. Entangle has no accounts and we hold no data about you. To erase everything, tap the E logo at the top three times (panic wipe), or delete the app.

What is an E-Node?
A small LoRa radio you can pair with the app to send private messages far beyond Bluetooth range. It is optional; Entangle works fully without it.

Why does Entangle need Bluetooth in the background?
Your phone is part of the mesh: it keeps receiving messages and passing them on for others while it is locked.
