# Türkiye detail pack

Finer map data for Türkiye that the web globe draws instead of Natural Earth when the view comes
close (basemap/SPEC.md §7). The apps do not bundle it.

| `tr-r4.emap` | LOD 4 (about 50 m): land, lakes, the country's land border, provinces (il), districts (ilçe), the region rectangle and mask |
| `tr-r5.emap` | LOD 5 (about 5 m): land and lakes |
| `tr-roads.emap` | Motorway, trunk, primary and secondary roads (about 20 m) |
| `tr-places.emap` | Cities and towns; for İstanbul also districts, suburbs, quarters and neighbourhoods |

Source: OpenStreetMap land polygons (osmdata.openstreetmap.de) and the Geofabrik Türkiye extract,
pinned in `basemap/region/inputs-tr.json` (data date 2026-10-19). Built with
`basemap/region/extract.sh`, `basemap/region/prepare.sh` (GDAL 3.13.3 in Docker) and
`basemap/gen_region.py`; `SHA256SUMS` pins the outputs.
